NFL Teams on Bye in Week 5 2026: Chiefs and Panthers
Looking up NFL teams on bye in Week 5 of 2026? The Carolina Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs are the two teams listed on the league’s Week 5 bye schedule. That means neither is scheduled to play a regular-season game in that week; the break is built into the 2026 NFL calendar, not a matchup cancellation.

Which NFL teams have a Week 5 bye in 2026?
The Week 5 list is:
Carolina Panthers
Kansas City Chiefs
The NFL’s 2026 schedule release lists both teams for Week 5. NBC Sports’ 2026 bye-week schedule independently lists the same pair. Fox Sports’ schedule overview describes the regular season as 17 games per team across 18 weeks, including one scheduled bye. Check the league schedule again before making a plan in case details change.
What does a regular-season bye mean?
A bye is a scheduled week without a regular-season game for that team. The NFL’s 2026 regular season spans 18 weeks, with each team scheduled for 17 games and one bye week. A bye is part of the published schedule; it does not mean a Week 5 game was postponed or that the team has an extra game to make up.
For Week 5, that makes the Chiefs and Panthers the teams to leave off a list of that week’s scheduled games. The rest of the weekly slate still has its own matchups and kickoff details, so use the official NFL schedule for the game you want to follow rather than assuming the bye list covers the full slate.
